Popular Post greenmonkey
First of all apologies in advance as I know this question must have been asked a thousand times in respect of visa's. I am here on a marriage visa, I have an online income that covers my expenses and needs minimal time and effort but here's the thing... I'm bored. I'd like to spend my time building a business that may or may not grow into something decent. I want to start a food cart/truck business. Ideally I would like to be at the location cooking and getting a feel for the business (in part to get out of the house and also in part to see if it has potential for proper investment) before training staff up to do the job. So what is the bare minimum I need to do in respect of visa's to enable me to do this? Many Thanks

But I am not so sure if it is possible to get a work permit for that kind of work. Some work is restricted for Thais only so legally you will never be able to do it. This is from my limited knowledge. I am sure others here know more details.
KhunLA
As stated, that's a tough one. Legally, think you need to classify yourself in management / tech support or something 'allowed' that Thai don't do. And I'd stay incognito as much as possible, as can't be flipping burgers in public, when your accounting/manager/tech support ... ???? Especially if quite successful and / or, if in high traffic area or well known to expat community, as your competition, whether expat, more likely, or Thai, would be the first to rat you out. MICHAELDUTCH
If you only at the start of a new foodbusiness/shop, just start i would say Everything on your wifes name and just keep your marriage visa I had exactly the same.I am married, bored and i have from my home country a income. I am here on a Non-O visa with the extensions. I have a online business and a (at home) food business. I just start and my wife is "the owner"........."i not help her"......i not take care" When the business is really making a good income....then i will registrate etc etc Many private thai people start from there own home.
