Buddhists block road in front of Parliament

BANGKOK: -- Traffic snarls are occurring in areas around Parliament after angry Buddhist protesters staged a road blockade on the Uthong Road in front of Parliament.

The Buddhists, who demand the next constitution to state that Buddhism is the national religion, moved from the roadside into the middle of the road to highlight their demand.

Since they were led by Buddhist monks, police dare not to use force to break the blockade.

While personally I would not be marching for anything other than peace or the like if I were ordained <and what is more political than peace? >

I am glad to see folks taking non-violent approaches to what they believe in

allane --- there have been extremists in every religion including buddhism
