Thai business leader calls for help over inflation as industrial sentiment continues to rise

The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) on Wednesday reported an uptick in its industrial sentiment index in January, up for five months in a row, while seeking extra help from the government to cope with inflation. 

 

The index surveyed from 1,335 businesses across sectors in January rose to 88 points from 86.8 a month earlier, signaling a return to pre-Covid levels, FTI chairman Supant Mongkolsuthree told a briefing.

 

“Despite the outbreak of the Omicron variant during the month, there was no severe impact on industrial production,” Supant explained. He added that both domestic and overseas demand are still expanding.

Dont worry, we will add 300bhat inflation charge on tourists. They dont seem to mind never.

Part of which is supposed to cover hospital charges for foreigners while being ripped off in hospital.

Who reckons that's going to materialise?
