Thailandpass not accepting vaccine QR code - what to do?

Featured Replies

I am triple vaxed: AZ in Bangkok,  Moderna in EU, 5 month later Moderna-Booster in EU.

The EU gave me paper and digital certificates for each of these vaccinations (i.e. the EU accepted the Thai vaccination).

My first Thailandpass in November accepted all these QR codes. But I never used this Thailandpass.

This time,  entering the EU QR code for the first vaccination is impossible, i get the error message "QR code not valid". So I tried the original Thai "certificate" (It isn't the full green certificate as I am not double vaxed in Thailand,  just the confirmation paper I got from Medpark Hospital after the first vaccination) and Thai QR code on it,  but the Thai QR code gets the same error message "QR code not valid".

I have heard from EU certificates they only want to see the second one (2/2), is this the reason?

If I use my Thai vaccination "certificate" to get a Thailandpass, will they accept it?

For the Thai vaccine, I could only get it to accept the QR code from the international vaccine certificate that you have to order through the app, not the one from the regular certificate. I don't know if that is always the case or if I was doing something wrong. And make sure you have the codes saved exactly as they want them with no border or anything.

Would it be possible to use the old Thailandpass (it is 3 months old and i was a no-show) or did it expire?

Of course, I would have to amend the hotel booking

You'll need a new one. It's expired, and also it's a different system now, so you will need the day 5 hotel booking as well.

I use screen shots of the digital codes,  not scans from the paper.

I use the same screen shots they accepted in November

My only advice is don't look for logic in any of it. Just keep trying different options and tweaking the info to see if you can find something they will accept. Or leave the QR code out and let them check it manually. There's no point trying to figure out 'why'.

Yes.

Got approved within 3 hours.

I had a similar issue. My QR was accepted in December for Test and Go and I was approved in 3 hours. I used the same code in January for a new application and got a "QR code not valid" message. I uploaded my certificates and approval took 3 days.

One would think that if you have been approved before (I've now come in 3 times), that the system would recognize your passport and other documents and you would be auto approved.
