Apparently it's top of the pops in Chiang Mai and the dance clubs of Manchester too. Invest in some beer company? He has lost/sold his business empire, he can't start over again, too old, and too big for anyone to "make room". Open up a 7/11 store? John K Posted June 13, 2007 Share Posted June 13, 2007 After reading today that another 8 Billion went missing last week, to me that is a signal he is on the run now and this thread is a diversion of sorts. The government should probably be sending some very trustworthy people to the border crossings, that cash is on the move out of Thailand. Also the on and off rumors of Thaksin spending money also seems like capital investment that may be more difficult for the Thai government to get. When the political party he founded, TRT, was dissolved by the Court's decision, Thaksin didn't return home. When he and so many of his buddies were banned from political activity for 5 years, Thaksin didn't return home. But when someone tried to take a 20 baht note out of his wallet, he's on the next flight home... agreeably an exaggeration of descriptions... but the crux of his thinking is there... and shows where his priorities lie... quite frankly, I can't see how his family would feel anything but disgust by his actions. After keeping a low profile, deposed prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra has caused a fresh sensation by going back on his word - again. This time he says he will return home as soon as possible. The absence of a security guarantee from the powers-that-be may have given the ousted prime minister more pause for thought, says a political observer. He would feel safer about coming home if someone were appointed to take charge of him. Hence the word is spreading that he may only be threatening to come home but has no real intention of doing so. Mr Thaksin cannot "risk his neck" by coming home because he might become a target for assassination from whatever opponent group, the observer pointed out. Thus, a safety-conscious person like Mr Thaksin knows in his heart whether he should stake his life on his homecoming. But talk about his plans does ignite some glimmer of hope in his desperate former party members, the observer added. However, the chances for violence are strong even if he is pushed into a corner. This is because loyal supporters who profited from his years in power will not give up; they certainly seem ready to fight to the finish. The nation could thus move on happily reunited. You deserve some credit for being the first to call it if this report is right. "Everyone fears death. I fear death," he said in a radio interview this morning. "Since the government and coup leaders said his safety could not be guaranteed, there is little chance he will return any time soon." Mr Noppadon said he will inform Mr Thaksin about political situation here and will advise him not to return early. Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont gave a green light for him to return to the country for the first time on Tuesday. Mr. Nitya says should ex-PM Thaksin Shinnawatra return to Thailand, UNHCR is in no position to take any action against Dr Thaksin. In response to news to hire a lobbyist company, he says the ministry is considering; however, the ministry is also trying to explain the country’s issues to other countries. Mr. Noppadol said the former premier, who has been travelling in Asia and England since his government was toppled by a coup led by army chief Gen. There is general un-rest on the streets, in addition to sporadic looting. The authorities have imposed martial law with a dawn to dusk curfew allowing all the vampires to prey on un-suspecting passers by. Depending on the outcome of this ritual, he may leave the country in the hands of his most trusted side kick "little man" and take up Opium smoking in Mae Hongsong. Meanwhile there has been speculation as to whether a rumble is happening inside the jungle of downtown Bangkok. The chinese moneylenders have all turned their business's into illegal bookmakers for the up-coming fight. It seems we are going to be witnessing a grand event in the first bout with Herr Taksin versus Sondthi L. It is widely touted as a personal grudge match.
