INN reported that after a recommendation from subordinates Royal Thai Police deputy commander Gen Roy Inkhaphairoj  ordered three places in Thonburi, the western part of Bangkok, to be shut for five years.

 

They are called "sathan borikarn" a Thai euphemism for places of prostititution and were shut under laws promulgated in the 1960s.

They are New Jazz in the Bang Yikhan police jurisdiction, Lan - Lao (Buppharam) and Poseidon Pub (Talat Phlu).

 

Such places all remain shut under Covid regulations noted Gen Roy without further explanation.

I am always wondering why the RTP can order that. I thought there was a court and a judge needed for this kind of decisions. Or is the RTP the court?

Must have upset quite a few, visitors and expats.  Now they will have to find something else to occupy their time.
