So, you want to know what is required to marry a Filipino?

Recommended Posts

All foreign nationals will need a certificate of legal capacity to get married or certificate of no impediment to marry before they can contract marriage in the Philippines.

This certification affirms that there are no legal impediments to the foreigner marrying a Filipino (i.e., that the foreigner is not currently married to someone else).

Philippine law requires a ten-day waiting period from the filing of the application to the issuance of the marriage license.

These ten (10) days are business days, not counting weekends or holidays.

The license is valid for 120 days and may be used anywhere in the Philippines.

One way Filipino couples light up the dance floor with family and friends is through the money dance.

Also known as the prosperity dance, or sabitan ng pera in Tagalog, it serves to usher in financial abundance in a couple’s marriage.

For wedding guests, it’s a fun moment full of candid merriment and well-wishing.

Could help pay for the next few months! Let us hope everything runs smoothly.
