Hungarian Gyorgy Kardos at Pattaya Police Station with evidence of Viagra. He was bailed out for 200,000 baht.

few more details. Mr. Kardos ordered the Viagra from a fellow Hungarian friend who entered Thailand as a tourist and hid the products amongst his clothes so that the Immigration department would not find them.

The police believe that this friend must have done this kind of smuggling many times before.

As for Mr. Kardos; he was bailed out for 200,000 Baht. Police Major Chaiyakrit also stated that Mr. Kardos has a Non-Immigrant Visa Class S with a work permit to work

in Thailand. Mr. Kardos claimed that he has many businesses in Pattaya including a motorbike rental company, Mini Mart, and a job center called Ocean Residential Company located in View Talay Condo 5 where staff are trained to give good service to foreigners.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Thawatchai stated that this case should take around 1 to 2 months before Kardos will be called into court. At the moment his case is being filed to the Customs Department in Bangkok so that he will be charged with a penalty from 100,000 to 500,000 Baht and then the Hungarian will be deported out of the country. Pattaya People then visited the Mini Mart at View Talay Condo 5 to find out that Kardos had given false information to the police. The Mini Mart is actually owned by another Hungarian, who explained to Pattaya People that his company was the sole owner of the Mini Mart, several jet skis and motorcycles for rent. Kardos came one day to his Mini Mart and explained that he wanted to do business with him an showed 50,000 Euros (over 2 million baht) in cash. The Mini Mart owner then organized a work permit for Kardos, but never saw him again and stressed that he has absolutely nothing to do with Kardos’ criminal dealings.

He showed us a receipt from Chonburi Labour Department stating that he as Managing Director of the limited company had now cancelled the work permit for Kardos. The claim by Kardos about work training and placement is another problem on the horizon for the Hungarian as it requires a license which is difficult to obtain to do this business in Thailand, so more ‘hard times’ indeed maybe coming to Kardos – even without Viagra!

Another quality Pattaya People report :o

Drugs ... Viagra??? Yeah so it's illegal but it's hardly all it's cracked up to be (pun intended)

I didn't know it was illegal.

I've seen (only a few months ago) ads in pharmacies in Bangkok.

Next thing you know they'll catch some guy from Armenia with paracetamol stashed in his undies.

Mmmm. Thats two people in as many weeks getting busted for selling viagra, when vaigra, kamagra and cialis can be bought over the counter of many clinics and pharmacies in Pattaya. I don't understand the need to import it and sell ít, the profit can't be great and it's a buyers market. Can someone explain?
