Thai clinches side tournament title at Winchester Women’s Open 2022

Thai snooker player Ploychompoo Laokiatphong, put Thailand in the headlines when she clinched the under-21 side tournament at the Winchester Women’s Open 2022 snooker championship in Leicestershire, UK, on April 2nd and 3rd.

 

The only Thai player on the circuit, she beat six other competitors to reached the final, in which she beat Stephanie Daughtery 2 frames to 0 to lift the trophy, the third title of her career.

Ploychompoo also competed in the Open tournament, but was defeated by Hong Kong snooker star Ng On Yee, who went on to win to the final, beating another Thai, Nutcharut Wongharuthai, to clinch the season-ending The Winchester Women’s Open title 2022 on Sunday.
