I've been trying to open the link that Old Git has posted in the stickie about applying for a UK holiday visa to no avail.

I've tried changing browsers as well.

Is anyone having similar issues & can someone offer an alternative please?

There is no such thing as a holiday visa. A standard visitor visa, which is granted for 5 months, is what you need.
