If that's supposed to be a positive comment, it's not. I used to live in Reston, Va., from 1975 to 2010. Years ago, in the 60s and 70s, Reston was considered a rather far out suburb from Washington, DC. It was a 'new town', built from scratch, and struggled at first as it was seen to be a long commute--at that time. The Ashburn area of Loudoun County, even farther out, was beautiful and mostly country. Then, in the 1980s and 1990s, Loudoun County's population exploded, doubling in the 1990s. In the early 2000s, it was the fastest growing county in the US. Lots of new, expensive housing was built for high-paid government workers and government-related workers. In 2007, Loudoun County was ranked the richest county in the US. Note, that was a number of years before most of the data centers were starting to be built in the Ashburn area. So, you don't have to have data centers to keep from 'ending up poor'. Nice place to live, back then, Ashburn--at one point I thought about moving there. When I read the current description, it doesn't seem so nice, with the hundreds of data centers it now has. The data centers seem to have polarized the town, with some residents for them, some against, some moving out, some being bought out, and many questioning the pros and cons.
