Extending 30-day visa exempt to 60 days

I think you are thinking of applying for a long stay extension. It is not the same when applying for a 30 day extension of stay.

About 2 weeks is the most that many office will accept a application for one.

I was talking about my previous experience with 60 day covid extensions and always doing them 30 days in advance. I didn't think it was different for visa exempt extensions, thanks for the correction.

I normally do the 30 day extensions 2 weeks out but one time I actually did it just after arrival at the same time I filed my TM30. Was approved no problem so not sure if lucky or this is fine to do so (saved me a trip to immigration)
