Maybole
I have buried 3 dead cats this week. All were no more than 2 years old and grown up kittens of a female which imposed herself on us about 3 years ago. they had all moved on, but occasionally came back to scrounge a meal and say hallo. They were all toms and one of them was found dead while the other two were found with extreme breathing difficulties and died within a short time. Wife insists that they died of Covid19. Is this possible? Can cats catch Covid19?
Scott
My local vet in the US has a notice that there is no evidence that cats can transmit Covid, at least not easily. It's likely that they can catch it but it doesn't appear that it's likely that they get sick or succumb to the disease. There are a host of other respiratory illnesses which are serious in cats though. I suspect we have members who may be more knowledgeable on the issue. Tom H
Catflue cant be healed and can infect other cats. Breathing problem is a symptom. No real C19 issue in my opinion. Edited April 29, 2022 by Tom H

Kenny202
If there is snake around a bite can cause respitory symptoms like that, or someone may have baited them
Excel
More likely poisoned as some people think they are a nuisance , just like dogs, although it is more difficult to poison a cat as they have mores sense when it comes to eating tainted foodstuffs. internationalism
probably feline parvovirus, kills very fast. There is vax, but 2k per shot and need 2. Each cat has this virus in their system, it develops, when immunity falls due to injury, any other illness. Canine parvovirus is similarly deadly, treatment is very expensive and not certain outcome Edited May 27, 2022 by internationalism
