A 25-year-old driver was fined 1,000 baht for illegally opening sirens in public areas in Pattaya while his friend claimed his dad owned a rescue foundation in Chiang Mai province.

Today, May 5th, around 01.30 a.m. Pattaya police were notified of a Fortuner driver who opened his sirens in public areas around Pattaya and bewildered other drivers. The car was reportedly headed to Pattaya Sai 3 road.

Pattaya police patrolled the road but were unable to locate the car, so they entered Soi Buakhao and found a white Fortuner with active sirens parked in front of a pharmacy.

"but the police dismissed the claim and fined the driver 1,000 baht"

Hey, you want to have some fun and make a Tik Tok of me being an A Hol and blocking Ambulance or use sirens on the road.

What its gonna cost?

500 and 1000 baht respectively!!

Lets do it!!

Spotty little doom-brain going to be wailing a different tune now.

Nice to see traffic law being enforced, since traffic offenders kill way more Thais than trafficking substances ever will.

Not going to kill or maim too many parked up with sirens on and some flashing lights. Low hanging fruit for the BIB.

I believe 1000thb is the going rate for this.

Police dismissed the 'claim" this being the drivers excuse he was taking a friend for treatment. the police did note dismiss the charge.

Don't expect it matters if he isn't an ambulance.

What a plonker,

Not the first "siren" to be opened up in Pattaya?

Explains why cops went to "letter of the law" as they "enveloped" him with officers. Time to "stamp" this sort of behavior out! Sorry... having petite mal seizure, maybe

About bloody time.

These fools driving around town with those unnesserary loud sirens blasting.

These fools need to grow up.

I've been opening sirens for 15 years in Pattaya - it's cost me way more than 1000 baht.

Many years ago in Australia knew a young guy who salvaged a siren from an old police car.

He fitted it to his car then would drive up behind someone switch it on and drive off.

Didn't do any harm but if you live in a Nanny State harmless fun isn’t allowed anymore.

that would be really annoying if you were on the receiving end but you'd cack your daks if you were the one doing it ????

They should have thrown the "Book" at him. Locked him in the "Pen".

That would put down a "Marker" for others to take "Note"of.
