Rungrujie U., a 22-year-old sister of the victim, and an 18-year-old girl whose name was withheld per our domestic violence editorial policy were still frightened when the police arrived.

I disagree a little - something like this should be an automatic 5 year army enrollment - Full Metal Jacket style shouting !

The officers from Pattaya Police Station already requested security footage to track down the suspect, who remained at large as of press time.

Presumably the threatened ex know's his name and where he lives/lived......

Agreed, another ticking time bomb waiting for an opportunity to snap.

"It's only a toy" says Thai man after threatening his 'terrified' ex with a gun in Pattaya

Daily News Thai Cap: A toy gun

A Thai man from Korat has surrendered to the Muang district police in Pattaya after a scary incident in the street.

The man was on a motorcycle when he pointed a gun at Rungrujee, 22, as she also rode a bike.

This terrified her and other road users who saw the incident.

One member of the public reported  the incident on Monday to police but the man escaped.

Chief Pol Col Kulachart Kulachai said his men had taken swift action and put pressure on the suspect to surrender.

This he did yesterday. He is 25 year old Chanot Naknin, Rungrujee's former boyfriend.

He arrived at the police station with the gun.

He said that it was only a toy belonging to a relative and it just happened to be under his bike seat so he decided to threaten his ex with it.

He said he was just playing around and that he didn't think it would be a big deal or taken seriously.

The constabulary begged to differ and he was taken away to be charged, reported Daily News

In the FL so we avoid rich boys to get favors.

Safe to presume that his name is known but it's far from safe to assume that his whereabouts at the time, before his surrender, were known.

Sadly because ‘nothing happened’ this will be dealt with softly, the consequences are that this guys actions are not punished his entitled, aggressive and dangerous behaviour ‘enabled’.

We will read news of this guy again when he next gets upset or jealous.

I wonder how many other people he's threatened with the gun (real or not) that "just happened to be under his bike seat".

Anyone checked under the seats of their bikes lately.... Relatives may have accidentally left a toy gun there !.... :whistling:

The outright lies these oxygen thieves spew out with are an utter insult to everyone around them.

If they have any video of the incident they may be able to tell if the 'gun' he presented is the same as in the video.

Couldn't disagree more, a modern army should employ  personnel of the highest standard.

Nice try...

Well, it's a 'toy' gun now. If he was using a toy gun then why didn't he just point his finger?  The toy guns I"ve seen have an orange barrel-end, bet his didn't.

At 25 this guy has likely already had some military cadet, or other military time.

I doubt that more time would make him any smarter. At 25 though, some jail time may smarten him up.

Do not forget that this is Thailand. Most people his age unless they have connections, like a rich family,

do have to do some military time in their adult life.

Based on the daily reports and history here...next time it will be a real gun and he will shoot her dead, or the next gf or future wife. Regardless of age, much of the loser male population here are violent, infantile brats...totally incapable of handling not getting their way and rationally dealing with life lessons. It's the cultural way boys are raised here and it needs to change drastically. Emotionally and mentally they never mature. :1zgarz5:
