Popular Post snoop1130
The average intelligence quotient (IQ) of Thai children is on the rise, from an average of 98.3 in 2016 to 102.8 in 2021, while 10.4% of the students surveyed have an IQ above 130, according to results of a nationwide survey released by the Ministry of Public Health’s Mental Health Department today (Wednesday). The survey, which is based on the Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM), which are a group of individually administered tests that non-verbally assess intelligence in children and adults through abstract reasoning tasks, was conducted on more than 21,000 Grade 1 and 2 students, during the first quarter and last two months of last year. Popular Post ikke1959
hahahahaha.. It depends how they are being tested... The standard deviation used in many tests, including the Wechsler IQ test, is 15. The majority of test scores (about 70%) fall somewhere between one standard deviation below and one standard deviation above 100.2 Most scores are somewhere between 85 and 115. Those scores are considered the "average" or normal intelligence range. The farther the score is from 100, the fewer people we will find with that score. If we move one additional standard deviation below and one additional standard deviation above 100, we will find about 25% of the scores falling within those ranges. In other words, people with IQs between 70 and 85 or between 115 and 130 make up about 25% of the population.2 https://www.verywellfamily.com/meaning-of-iq-test-scores-1449360#toc-standard-deviations
Popular Post Robin
Read the link to the detailed survey results. This suggests that the results given here are nonsense. e.g. worldwide only 2% have IQ above 130, so do not believe that Thai children are so much above the World average. probably got the data from the same source as Anutin's tourist arrivals figures Waning to Prayuth et al., Too intelligent a population might see through all you B/S and hold you to account. 20

Pouatchee
IQ tests are considered no longer valid. Couple years ago the even started talking about EQ tests, and actually still are. Scientists and researchers and bar stool lawyers/teachers are always trying to come up with ways to measure people. Just like big feet are equivalent to a big d_iu_ck. If that were the case I would be a modern day Dirk Diggler. ???? Edited May 11, 2022 by Pouatchee 1
Popular Post rbkk
I doubt this was an international test due to the language barrier. If it was set by Thai's of course the numbers given will be looked at sceptically. They have tried for years to set the National O-net Tests and still failed spectaculary with some of the questions and answers. Here's a classic to remember for the belly laughs it gave many.... Q2: If you have a sexual urge, what must you do? a) Call friends to go play football. b) Talk to your family. c) Try to sleep. d) Go out with a friend of the opposite sex. e) Invite a close friend to see a movie. 2 1

Popular Post PETERTHEEATER
Undoubtedly the increase in IQ is due to the kids consumption of expensive vitamin fortified milk powder drinks as seen on Thai TV commercials. Just one sip and the light bulb bubble shoots from the kids head and he performs wonderful things even designing space vehicles to rapturous applause from white-coated rocket scientists. Alas, the supplement works only with boys, not girls ????

That was news a few years ago, when bureaucrats established Thailand's own IQ scale, so internationally it's pretty useless. Using international standards, those 10% mentioned made it, perhaps, over the 90 mark. Edited May 11, 2022 by StayinThailand2much

Freed1948
Interesting. Only 6.4% of the world have an IQ of level of 130 {superior}. The article states this test was carried out on Grade 1 and 2 students{6 and7 years old}. [The students in the photo are older than that]. Be that as it may all looks bright and and beautiful for Thailand's future.
Popular Post Lacessit
The way the Thai education system focuses on obedience and rote learning, with zero questioning of authority, permit me to doubt Thai kids can achieve the claimed IQ improvement. The children of affluent Chinese and Indians flock to Western colleges and universities, that's no accident. Haven't heard of Thailand following suit, the main export seems to be massage girls. 2
