Election Sunday 22/05.???

Featured Replies

So is this another dry 24 hrs.?

I'd forgotten all about it.

And Bangkok too.?

Yes. Saturday 6 PM (18:00) to Sunday 6 PM.

So look forward to Sunday evening ????

I feel sorry for the two week tourist that has these 2 Sundays  in their vacation timeline.

Its a Pattaya only election and only dry in Pattaya not Bangkok as far as I am aware

I hope so too.

It's a general rule for elections by law (6 PM to 6 PM).

But who knows.

Maybe a Covid extra this time.

So they can open again at 6pm on Sunday...just in time for the footy matches.

All premiership games kick off at 4 p.m. (UK) on Sunday as it's the last day of the season - so 10 BKK time

Thats why I said 6pm is just in time.

Yes fully confirmed, that is what you get when one non-bargoer listens to another.

They may have changed the rules, but during elections it used to be no alcohol sales allowed from 18:00 on Saturday until midnight on Sunday. The Gogo Bars worked on the assumption that if they opened around 21:00 on the Sunday, after the polls had closed, then nobody was going to make a fuss. Of course, now that they're all restaurants that have to close by midnight anyway maybe they won't bother, lol.

Wrong. Never been the rule.

Happy to shift responsibility.

Can complain at this media outlet:

Actually, you'll learn if you read enough that the alcohol ban during Buddha Days is a "rule", whereas the ban during an election is a law.

KBQ must right, as I see that TQ has announced reopening for 6 p.m. Sunday.
