What they forget to mention that it is the hotels that are still open and operating that are almost fully booked. No mention of comparable figures for pre covid! How many hotels etc are still closed and shuttered? 8

Popular Post ikke1959
Math is not the strongest ability in Thailand... 44,46 is not even 50% and 4.000 tourists a day from international flights is not so much either. An airplande can transport about 300 peopel and 27 airplaines is 8.100 seats at least..same for the 100 domestic flights .... not more than 50% full ....So where is the fully booked come from? 3

At 44%, 50% up are at risk of going under - or fleecing their only customers

Tropposurfer
Definitely lots more falangs on the west coast of Phuket. Great to see lots of small businesses opening up after sop long (and wondering of folks would ever come back to them) all cleaning feverishly and setting-up. DFPhuket
I have a friend who works at one of the Marriott's in Phuket and he confirmed that they were 100% occupied over the weekend. The open hotels having a 60-80% occupancy sounds about right. But I'd guess that only about 25% of the rooms available pre-Covid were filled. There are a large number of hotels that remain closed.

pagallim
Also needs to be borne in mind that for every flight of arrivals, there's a flight of departures.
