Does anybody know the current requirements to enter Vietnam & neighbouring countries from Thailand

Featured Replies

OP, you will find information about your question in adjacent forum visas work permits.

Folks now asking about border runs and the requirements are outlined.

Earlier it was flights to Phnom Penh and that is a straight forward option.

Recently Laos borders have opened.

Not many reports as yet but it's possible.

Very little info re Vietnam.

In fact I'm interested in trip to Saigon however entry to Vietnam seems vague and haven't seen a report.

To reenter Thailand it's now quite simple if fully vaccinated.

You will require 10k covid insurance and TP..

No covid tests.

Moved to correct forum.

Thank you. I did look through different forums and because my querie included returning to Phuket I wasn’t sure which was the appropriate one to use. Thanks!

He isn’t returning to Thailand though and that is the latter part of my querie et all!

I’ll check through the relevant forums to see if can get progress matters and thanks for your info!

Reentry to Thailand no is piece of cake if fully vaccinated.

You require 30 day cover of 10kusd.

You can get a policy for 650baht.

Not covid test before flight or on arrival.

You need a TP which is done online and very quick now.

No quarantine etc.

How would you plan to return visa wise?

There are currently no Covid restrictions to getting in to Vietnam.  For a UK passport the evisa is available or just turn up with proof of exit within two weeks.

A mate has just returned after two weeks there and I'm sure he had a Covid test in Bangkok before departure, and maybe even had to show vax details, but Timatic now says all measures removed from 15th May.

I'm bit fish outta water on this.

Being Oz require visa.

For years have been obtaining 3 month multi entry visa to Vietnam.

Obtain "letter" from visa companies in Vietnam and obtain visa on arrival with letter and form etc.

First up seems multi 3 month not available.

Also only eVisa application is in place and not approval letter..

Pre-Covid, holders of certain passports could travel to Vietnam for 14 days without a visa. Is this option back?

Sorry, can't help with Oz passport requirements.  What I relate is from a Brit mate who is a regular traveller between Thailand and Vietnam.  I often go with him and rely on him to keep my right but this time I was going to the UK so not 100% clear on exactly what he needed.

I'm pretty sure it is as my mate had to change plans to return in < 2 weeks and was cursing he'd paid for the month visa!  You need to show exit flight details on arrival for the two week stamp.

Just for any Oz folk or also others that need a visa for Vietnam eg USA....

I tried an application for eVisa.

Just a dry run. Very simple.

However it does not cater for 3 month multi entry.

My travel habits to Saigon are max stay maybe 4 nights then back to BKK, so really it's currently not worth it.

FWIW: The current return flight to Saigon is ~3400baht return.
