The remark followed a meeting between the Thai delegation, led by the director-general of the Thai Department of American and South Pacific Affairs, and officials at the US State Department between May 15th and 18th, 2022, ahead of late June release of the annual US report. Popular Post ThailandRyan 47846
Hopes are like wishes and dreams. Reality is a bit different. I hope I hit the lottery, I wish it would not rain during the rainy season, the reality being I was drenched after the umbrella collapsed from the weight of the downpour.....Human trafficking is a vicious criminal enterprise, where those trafficked are only looked upon in a monetary value and they could care less of the human toll that happens. This Government has been complicit for many years, and many have been enriched by it. The trafficking of migrant workers is human trafficking, but that's of little concern to people who need workers......

Popular Post ikke1959 7857
It depends how many cases there are in reality.. 200 cases seems a lot, but is probably only the tip of the iceberg... And considering what is happening in the fishing industry and other businesses, as long working hours and other circumstances is also a part of human abuse/trafficking....
hotchilli 40636
Thailand has a very rocky history when it comes to trafficking, the last year has seen many instances of smugglers still very active, and companies willing to employ them.

And how many top army, immigration, and other officials have been arrested and jailed? I have not heard anything about those cases. As usual, they are picking on the little guy, and trying to make an example our of him, in a futile attempt to look like they are doing SOMETHING. You get removed from the list, when you start to take this issue seriously, convict and lock up some of the big guys, no matter who they are, or how well connected they are, and show that you are serious people. Anyone who profits from human trafficking, should not only be locked up, all of their assets should be seized, and why not just execute them? Do they deserve the oxygen they greedily consume?

ThaiFelix 3404
Its the arrests that havnt been made and certainly should have been made, that are of concern here. herfiehandbag 9668
Whilst 142 million Baht is a lot of money, it isn't a very big dent in 1.6 billion Baht.
