Two ballots were reported missing from one polling station, and two excessive ballots were found in another, putting the official results on hold in two districts.

 

Today, May 23rd, it was reported that about 50% of an eligible 78,018 Pattaya residents came to vote for the new Pattaya mayor at 146 polling stations spread across four districts, after voting officially closed at 5 p.m. yesterday, May 22nd.

According to the unofficial result, Poramase “Beer” Ngampiches, the number 1 candidate from the Rao Rak Pattaya team, seized victory with 14,349 votes, followed by Sinchai Watthanasathon from the Pattaya Ruamjai team in second place with 12,477 votes, Kittisak Ninwattanatochai from the Progressive Movement Association in third place with 8,759 votes, and Sakchai Tanghor in last place with 990 votes, accounting for 98.63 % of all voters.

So a tiny discrepancy of 4 ballots where there's a difference of 1872 between first and second place is enough to derail the whole process?

Stolen election!  He didn't win.  Fake results. Overturn the final count. (Sound familiar?  555)

Thais and election. I see Poramet wins and all 24 council seats are for  his buddies, Talk about  opposition and accountability. Thailand and Thais have no idea 

I suspect they mean Ballot Boxes, as opposed to individual voting papers.

What's an excessive ballot?  Does this mean there were more votes cast than registered voters?  I can see how stealing a couple of boxes can happen but the 1st scenario is puzzling.

Realizing they couldn't rig the election, the boxes mysteriously turn up.
