Spokesman for the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) Taweesin Visanuyothin announced on Facebook Saturday that his rapid antigen test returned a positive result on Friday, indicating that he has caught the coronavirus.

He said he will rest for 10 days in isolation and apologised to anyone with whom is has been in close contact in the past week.

A mild sore throat was his only symptom, Taweesin wrote. Other than that, he said he feels fine.

Would be interesting to know as to whether he had doses of the useless Chinese vaccine or others such as Pfizer. Hope there is not a spread now from Thong Lor again

Why would it be interesting to know his medical history? Are you a virologist? Are you going to publish a research about vaccine effectiveness? From your post, it seems you have all the medical background to label vaccines.

Oh no! He’s caught the sniffles.

Wait, has he not already had it once before, or was he just exposed and isolated last year......

We all know that vaccines will not keep you from possibly getting infected but they will reduce the severity of what the virus could possibly do to one.

Odd isn't it..... the Thai newsreaders, despite being alone, have masks on, and the other shows they seem to wear the plastic screens.

I think, for some reason, ThaiPBS has pulled out and used an old file photo of this guy.... In all their briefings for a long time now, they've all been wearing face masks...

This is a clip from one of their latest briefings on May 26:

And here's Taweesin from one of his most recent public, televised briefings on May 20.

One other tell is...it looks like he's got a lot more gray hair in the current photo I posted above vs the ThaiPBS version.

Best to not jump to unfounded conclusions...
