A sea turtle has been rescued on Kata Beach after being washed ashore yesterday (May 30th)

After a check-up and a few good meals return it to the ocean.

Not another display for a local aquarium.

Came ashore to lay eggs maybe ???

Could be...turtles do nest on various beaches around Phuket. However Kata isn't a very good choice as it's a very active recreational area. It may be too small to be breading age and was slightly injured by ghost fishing nets. Interestingly, it's a rare Olive Ridly Turtle...not the Hawksbill commonly seen around Phuket.
