Siam Rath reported that the administrator of the Bandung Update page in Udon Thani, NE Thailand, got a call about a thief.

Not just any thief - a three meter long python that had helped itself to a man's four prized bantams (chickens), the entire contents of the cage.

The culprit was so full that he was just loafing around the top of the cage digesting the meal.

Weeraphon Raksamerwong (we believe) was pictured smiling with the large snake that a rescue team soon had in custody and on its way back to nature.

Wirat Pholarome, 49, the houseowner in Srisuttho sub-district suspected a snake had got one of his birds a while back.

Now one had finished off the other four of his bantams that he keeps with other prized birds.

But all was not lost.

Treating this as an auspicious omen he was planning to play the number of his pick-up - 5365 - in the next draw for the national lottery, Thursday June 16th.
