Just a quick question if I may,

The requirements for Tuberculosis testing state that this must be done before and submitted with your settlement visa application, The ukvac website gives details of where this should be done but I was wondering If it can be done elsewhere or is the center they reccomend the only authorised place?

I was told by someone who previously applied that It could be done after the visa was issued, However after reading the website it appears that this is not the case.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

Many thanks

^ You need to proceed via the IOM (International Organisation for Migration) and their one of their recommended hospitals for the x-rays/reports and before applying for a settlement visa. Last year, there were only 2 IOM recommended hospitals: Bumrungrad and Phaya Thai 2, I don't know if they've authorised any more yet. Don't try to short-cut the system.

Problem is we have over looked it bit, and I'm hoping there is not too much of a waiting list to get it done!

Just phone up IOM and get yourself an appointment early in the day. Then leaves you time to go to the hospital, Bumrungrad is closer but an annoying taxi ride away with the usual traffic snarl around Siam.

The process from making an appointment to issue of the certificate took me and my missus 1 day. That is the certificate was issued the same day ( all being well). I would advise that you arrive at the IOM early in the morning as there is a lot of running about, IOM to hospital, register with the hospital, x ray taken, wait for x ray, take the x ray back to IOM for them to examine. Also note at the IOM you will need 2 photographs , and photocopies of the id page of passport.

Hope this gives you some idea of what to expect

Sawasdee , my wife went for her TB test at Phaya Thai hospital , it was about 2 stops away from Siam square on the sky train.I once wrote a long post all about our day getting the TB test certificate but i dont know how to put in a link to the thread. I do remember going to the IOM office at 8.30 and getting the certificate at about 11 am , everything was quick to deal with. Anyway , good luck

Went through this last week. You need to book an appointment at IOM. The applicant needs to take their passport and a photocopy; their ID card and a copy; 2 colour photos (45mm x 35mm); and 2,600 Baht fee. We were also asked to bring our childrens' passports, but they didn't ask to see them on the day, so you may want to take them if that's relevant to you. The initial appointment took about 15 minutes and then we went for the x-ray at Bumrungrad. We were no more than an hour there, and then we returned to IOM only to find they were closed for lunch between 12 and 1. We got the certificate about 15 minutes after they opened again.
