A police captain from Bangkok’s Wang Thong Lang district police was sentenced to 20 years in prison today (Wednesday), after he was found guilty by the Ratchadapisek Criminal Court of shooting his wife to death with a pistol at their house two years ago.

 

Pol Cpt Songklod Boonsong was charged with using his .45 calibre pistol to kill his wife, Pimchadaporn Pooyamsai, following a heated argument at their house in the Bang Kapi area of Bangkok on June 20th, 2020.

 

During the trial, the officer claimed that he used the gun to intimidate his wife and had no intention to shoot her.

And as for the 720K pittance in damages to the family, if it was my daughter I'd want everything he had, owned, and half of what he will earn when let out 20 years from now.

I agree except I am willing to bet he will be out much much sooner than that.

Should get 20 to Life. Sadly he'll prob be out in 2-3 years. So little justice and concern here for Thai females.

Like that Army Sergeant a couple of months ago.

Abducted , raped , murdered and set fire to a young lady.

3 years to catch him.

33 year sentence , given a cushy job in the nick.

Reduced sentence on appeal to 9 years , out on parole after 4 and a half years.

Daddy was one of the umpteen thousand Colonels in the Thai army.

The cop should get life or execution!

BS on the intimidation! They are taught not to point loaded guns!And the cop changed his original story , that his wife committed suicide .

What about the family ! 720k to buy them out ! What do they suggest punishment should be!

Especially if they're in the sex industry - see recent 8 year sentence for cutting up bargirl Puk.

But it's not only in Thailand - some western countries are a disgrace as well.
