Naew Na reported on the aftermath of an accident in which the rider of a motorcycle with sidecar lost control at a bend and collided with the tire of a ten wheel truck on a Thai country road.

The bike was a write off.

The driver of the truck, Kantinan, 28, was at the scene as the victim was taken away in an ambulance to Sirikit Hospital.

He said that the motorcyclist lost control at the bend hitting him on the right side before being propelled off.

Police will talk to both drivers involved again to sort out the matter.

All credit to the truck driver, at least he stopped.

Lucky the sidecar wasn't full of kids.

They probably fell out at the previous bend

Looking at the way the so called "sidecar" is fitted to the bike I doubt it could be controlled on a straight road, let alone a bend.

You would think with 8 years of experience (or more), the 18 year old would be a better driver!

Nothing but a nuisance those sidecars.

From the photo it hardly looks like a bend?

No helmet, and bad driving. " I lost control " should read ''I am a cr@p driver who can't control my vehicle at speed round a bend''

Agreed - they go slow & there's no room to overtake.  Throw in the speaker vans at election time & no wonder Thailand's fuel bill is 30% higher than it should be!

I imagine his mobile phone will be somewhere......yet to see anyone under the age of 20 ride a motorbike without a phone stuck to their face.

Just an 18yo kid riding an inherently unstable and hard to control vehicle.... I often see kids deliberately trying to lift the sidecar wheel...  if it lands the samlor will pull to the side.
