Health experts say The number of new Covid-19 infections is likely to be more than 10 times higher than the figures published daily.

 

There is concern at 2 new sub variants of Omicron which appear to be spreading widely. 

 

Experts added the number of children infected by Covid-19 surged after schools reopened, and cases are expected to increase this month and reach their peak between July and September,” 

 

A new opinion poll suggests Thaksin Shinawatra’s daughter, 35 year old Patong-tarn Shinawatra, is the top choice of voters to lead the country after general elections are held at some time before the end of March next year.

 

She was widely tipped to be the prime minister candidate of the nation's largest opposition party Pheu Thai.

 

She received 25 per cent backing of respondents in last weeks poll conducted by  the National Institute of Development Administration, known as Nida.

Hong Kong: The parent company of the Jumbo Floating Restaurant that capsized while being towed in the south china last week is not eligible for any insurance payout.

 

There was confusion whether the vessel had capsized or sank, this would affect the insurance liability. The company said that its response to the incident has been "consistent" with Hong Kong law.

 

The Japanese government warned  that electric power supplies would be strained in the Tokyo area today,  calling on people to save energy during the summer heat.
