Thai Rath reported on the continuing developments in the case of a Singaporean businessman called Yang who claimed he was abducted at gunpoint from a Bangkok nightclub by seven men and had a 4.5 million baht Porsche and other monies taken from him.

At least some of the men were in police uniform. It happened at the Booze pub in Huay Khwang.

Among those allegedly involved are Thanit Na Phatthalung, 26, a man known as Hiso Talay and Petch Bunwong, 44, a CEO of PRX Metaverse a software developer.

Earlier reports suggested it was over an online gambling debt.

Last night both men were interrogated after they were arrested on warrants for theft and extortion with menaces.

Thanit's lawyer said his client was not guilty though he admitted that he had a business dispute with the Singaporean who owed Thanit about a million baht.

There was no truth to the rumor that he had the Porsche - he just had a computer notebook belonging to the victim and would return it.

He had no need of money as he was rich already.

The lawyer said that he was considering counter suing the Singaporean on behalf of his client.

The high profile businessmen remained in the custody of the Huay Khwang police as of last night.

Who comes up with these stupid names?

I mean call someone Tom or Dick or whatever. But "Hello Hiso Talay and Petch, how are you?" Strange!

Seems a bit forwards to me - unless trying to scare someone into withdrawing something. I was always told to sue after the facts are out and dealt with - not before - but hey this is suit loving hi-so business Thailand

So no case then?
