Thailand Hosts ASEAN Veterans Committee Meeting

BANGKOK (NNT) - The War Veterans Organization of Thailand is hosting the Veterans Confederation of ASEAN Countries’ working committee meeting, ahead of the confederation’s primary meeting planned for later this year. The meeting aims to strengthen ties and cooperation between veteran organizations in the region.

Bottled Palm Oil Prices to Fall to B64-69/Liter

BANGKOK, July 12 (TNA) – The operators of all department stores agree to reduce the retail prices of one-liter bottled palm oil to 64-69 baht this week, according to the Department of Internal Trade.

Five-day-long weekend to celebrate two major Buddhist holidays

Starting tomorrow, Thailand will have a five-day-long weekend as two Buddhist holidays are approaching on July 13th for Asanha Bucha Day and the 14th for the beginning of the Buddhist Lent while the 15th was announced by the government as a special holiday.

Government Open to Input on Chana Industrial Project

Thai Economic party withdraws from government coalition

Two protest leaders get suspended jails term, fines for defying Emergency law

Two of Thailand’s anti-establishment protest leaders, Parit Chiwarak, aka “Penguin”, and Jutatip Sirikhan, aka “Ua”, were sentenced to two-months in jail, suspended for 2 years, and fined 10,000 baht each today (Tuesday) by the Pathumwan Municipal Court, after they were found guilty of violating the state of emergency law two years ago.
