Women's Football - England produced a sensational, record-breaking performance to stun rivals Norway as they progressed to the knockout stages of the European Women's Championship as group winners. 8-0 they won in Brighton. Austria beat Northern Ireland 2-0 at Southampton, which means the Irish are eliminated from the tournament. 

 

Manchester United's manager Erik ten Hag says Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo is "in their plans" for the new season and is "not for sale". 

 

The 37-year-old will miss United's match tonight against Liverpool in Bangkok which according to his manager is for personal reasons. 

 

Wayne Rooney has agreed to return to Major League Soccer side DC United as the club's new head coach. England's record goalscorer who is 36 now, stood down as Derby County manager last month.  

 

Rooney spent 18 months in Washington at DC United before joining Derby as a player-coach in January 2020.

 

F1 -  Former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone will be charged with fraud by false representation following an investigation into overseas assets believed to be worth more than £400m. 

 

The 91-year-old spent 40 years as the head of F1 before being removed as its chief executive officer in 2017.
