2 Years On O-A?

Recommended Posts

Is it correct I can stay 2 years on a multiple entry O-A visa without having to move money into a Thai bank or going into immigration?

My understanding is I am stamped in on arrival for 1-year, then I do a border hop from anywhere before the year ends, and am stamped in for another year.

How would they know I had health insurance for the 2nd year if I'm just stamped in at a land border, do they check it there?

You can get a total stay of almost 2 years from a Non-OA visa by entering the country just before it expires.

You will need to prove you have the required medical insurance for every entry using the OA visa by land or air. If the insurance coverage is less than a year your permit to stay would only be stamped to the day it ends.

Thanks. Do the entries get renewed for the 2nd year, or would I need to stay in Thailand the whole 2nd year?

In the second year to exit and reenter you would need to purchase a reentry permit.

The non O-A is only multiple entry for the life of the visa.
