Police seek Republican county clerk charged with election tampering in Colorado

Tina Peters, the Mesa County, Colorado, clerk indicted on multiple felony counts stemming from an election security breach, poses in a jail booking photograph in Grand Junction

DENVER, July 14 (Reuters) - A county clerk who was indicted on felony charges of tampering with voting equipment and then lost a bid for the Republican nomination to Colorado's top election-management post has become a fugitive from justice, court records showed on Thursday.

In a written court order, Mesa County District Judge Matthew Barrett revoked a $25,000 cash bond for Tina Peters, who is the county's Republican elected clerk and recorder, and issued a warrant for her arrest.

Court records show Peters left the state without permission, violating the terms of her bail bond that permitted her pre-trial release from jail in March.

Tampering with voting equipment (a well deserved felony) and now she is taking it on the lam.... stop her, stop her steal....

"Court records show Peters left the state without permission, violating the terms of her bail bond that permitted her pre-trial release from jail in March"

I'm old enough to remember when Republicans claimed to be the party of "law and order"...

Lock her up

Only a very slight hitch in what is turning out to be a wonderful year for Justice.

The ‘perp walk’* which will come with her inevitable capture is going to be a moment to savor.

*Thank you Rudy, however can we thank you?
