Two engineers dead after accident in drain outside condo in Bang Na, Bangkok

Siam Rath reported that three engineers were taken to hospitals plus a security man after an incident in a drain outside a condominium in the Bang Na area of Bangkok.

 

The men were named as Direk, 37, Worawut, 23, Thossaphol ,26, all maintenance engineers at the condo plus security guard Sarima, 37.

 

Thossaphol and Worawut have since died.

 

The cause is believed to be electrocution followed by suffocation. 

 

The men were doing maintenance work in the drain outside the condo that is in the area of Wat Bang Na Nai in the Thai capital.

When I hear drain I think confined space entry requirements….

 

another regulation not to comply with….but let’s keep wearing our masks on motorcycles and in nature areas

 

ckueless as what’s important safety measures and what isn’t 

 

bottom line - no lessons learned b/c these types of incidents (not accidents) are not used in follow up safety training exercises….why? No one is held accountable for injury or death or not following proper protocol 

 

why is it sad or terrible? It is expected - just another day

Safety, what safety? i don't think they have word for it in Thai, i see the maintenance guys in our condo, an accident in the making, in a country where compensation and social security system is a joke...
