An ice delivery truck carrying one Thai and two Burmese workers was swept away by a high tide and fell into a river in Sri Racha. The Thai worker was able to swim out of the truck and survived while two others were still missing.

A combined team of police and divers responded to an accident on Thursday, July 21st, involving an ice delivery truck that fell into a river after getting swept away by a strong tide in Soi Suksawat in Sri Racha.

The accident scene was an overflowing weir, according to reports. An ice delivery truck was found almost completely submerged in the water. The officers assisted one victim named Somchai Namrat, a 47-year-old Thai truck driver, who said that he was able to escape the truck just in time before it got submerged. However, his two Burmese friends who were in the car with him were washed away by the current and went missing.

Generally trucks do not get swept away by drivers applying common sense and not driving through water

With the greatest respect and sympathy for the missing Burmese workers, may I thank ASEAN NOW for it's continued use of the words Burma and Burmese. The name "Myanmar" was introduced in 1989 by a military Junta!
