Thailand's minister of energy defended the government's plans for energy production,  the opposition said if production was maintained at an excessively high level, there would be  greater financial burden for consumers.

 

The opposition claims excess capacity exceeds 54%  and should be around 15 percent. while the government says the level is 35 percent based on forecasts for consumption. 

 

Prime Minister Prayut said the Ministry of Defence has  taken legal action against the local suppliers of fake bomb detectors purchased from a British company between 2006 and 2009, in contracts worth several hundred million baht.

 

The Move Forward party said former military leaders who approved the purchase over a decade ago, and who are now in power, must still be held accountable.

Thai police are on the lookout for A 26 year old Singaporean man and his Thai wife. The couple  collected at least S$32 million sing dollars from over 200 people, but failed to fulfill their luxury goods  orders online.

 

Both had been questioned by police and surrendered their passports, the couple then hid in a lorry’s container to enter Malaysia and are believed to be in Thailand. Interpol has issued a red notice for them.
