F1 -  Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel is to retire from Formula 1 at the end of this season.

The 35-year-old said the decision had been "difficult" and that he had "spent a lot of time thinking about it".

 

The German said he would "take more time to reflect on what I will focus on next" at the end of the year.

 

He also said spending more time with his family was a priority.Vettel will leave the sport as one of the most successful drivers in history.

 

Football - Transfer News - English Premier League side Everton have signed Burnley winger Dwight McNeil on a five-year contract in a deal worth about £20m.  

 

McNeil made 140 appearances for the Clarets and has missed just two Premier League games since December 2018.

 

Basketball - The US has made a "substantial offer" to bring two American detainees home from Russia, its top diplomat has said.  

 

Reports in US media suggest Moscow is interested in exchanging basketball star Brittney Griner for convicted Russian arms trafficker Viktor Bout. A Kremlin spokesperson confirmed talks were ongoing but insisted no agreement had been reached.
