A giant screen fell and injured two dancers in front of horrified fans at a concert in Hong Kong by the hugely popular boy band Mirror.

The video screen crushed one performer before toppling onto others, footage circulating online showed.

The music concert was immediately halted and the band's manager asked crowds to calmly exit the arena.

Riggers didn’t have proper redundancy; 3-4 attaches not two.

One gave out, when it shouldn’t have, and the second gave out instantly as soon as it’s load increased.
Someone grossly miscalculated and will pay for it.

Best of luck for the injured dancers for a recovery.

Just looked up for just a rope, the breaking strength.

Beaufort – double braid polyester 6 mm 1129 kg

I dont think a flatscreen is weighing that much, maybe 100 kg?

A solar panel with glass is 25 kg, so screen 4 times bigger is 100 kg.

But even then 1129 kg breaking strength on a 6 mm rope !

Frame of screen couldnt handle it? You cant hang it? Wrong connecting clips

What broke now? OK, whatever. At least wrong mechanics preparing the stuff.

Jezzus that nailed the dancer.

Good God that nearly decapitated him. Maybe the band (?) need to reflect on their stage show. pun intended.

Looks like he could be paralysed from the neck down , now just waiting to see how he recovers and whether his neck nerves  re grow

We all need more K-Pop imitators........
