Council president Supanai Prasertsuk stated that the Pharmacy Council has always supported the decriminalization of cannabis and hemp for medical purposes. However, after the legalization, there is reported overuse and abuse of the planting for recreational purposes while the government’s measures and regulations are weak, causing daily confusion among the public.

According to the statement, the Council, which claimed to have been working closely with the people, would like the government to proceed with the followings:

I beleive that the Pharmacy Council are correct. May be an element of self promotion for them but surely this should be Land of Smiles NOT Land of Stoners. If there's a medical need then fine but for recreation no.

They knew where it was going to end. You think these massive operations like the Dispensary, Prikpot, Bloom et al dont have the support of the government. As i stated before if you dig a little bit you wont be at all surprised how many of these companies have someone with the name na ayuthaya involved. The anti pot brigade on here are tripping if they think this was all done as some mistake which will be wound back. Theres billions involved here. If there is to be any regualtion it will only to be make sure that all the money to be made on the "recreational side" will flow into the pockets of the usual suspects that run everything else.

Never been in any Thai pharmacy that wouldn't sell me any product they had in stock, no questions asked.

Maybe they should look to cleaning up their own members, before they start trying to interfere with others.

Worried about their revenues as more and more people will get pain relief from weed and not need manufactured rubbish. Pharmacists are the biggest drug pushers of all!

When it comes to cannabis quite a few in Thailand seem to believe it's legal to smoke it anywhere in Thailand.
