Two Thai hunger striking activists on held remand granted bail

Two monarchy reform activists, being held on remand and who have been on a hunger strike since June 2nd, were granted conditional release on bail by the Bangkok South Criminal Court today (Thursday) and are set to be released tonight, according to a Thai Lawyers for Human Rights’ (TLHR).

Police chief oversees probe into Ubon Ratchathani shootings, one arrested

Thailand’s national police chief, Pol Gen Suwat Jangyodsuk, flew to the north-eastern province of Ubon Ratchathani today (Thursday) to oversee the investigation into last night’s shootout in a department store parking lot, which left two dead and seven wounded. One person has now been arrested.

‘Joe Ferrari’ seeks to withdraw his appeal against conviction for killing suspect

The mother of convicted police officer Thitisan Uttanaphon, aka “Joe Ferrari”, has asked the court for the withdrawal of an appeal against her son’s conviction, claiming that her son has repented for the crime he committed and is ready to face the prison term.
