NewGuy
Are there stop drinking sites in Phitsanulok, especially Bang Rakam? I know a 40 yr old rice farmer who needs help with avoiding alcohol. He’s been an out of control drinker for a long time and I don’t want to loose him. A doctor just told him his liver would kill him unless he stopped. Advice please. 1
Bill97
Buddhists are welcome at AA meetings. Here Thai Buddhists go to meetings.
The Hammer2021
Alcoholics Anonymous! Presumably you choose your higher power. But if you think you'll get a horny handed son of the soil to talk soul searching giberish in a meeting I suspect youre wrong.

rwill
Tell him to become a monk. Of course that doesn't always work either.
Bangel72
I believe most hospitals hold regular sessions, not quite AA but they usually have some meetup groups. I made the mistake of pushing someone to go before, sort of get help or get out scenario, that bypassed their desire to stop and willpower to do so, so the sessions did not work for them and they have now gone but still no doubt drink. They may even prescribe pills that make him feel really bad when he takes alcohol but that too is a choice. If you have a dependent addict it impacts you and everyone around you, its not nice but sometimes you need to cut loose.

HandsomeTallFarang
Alcoholics Anonymous says your willpower is useless in quitting drinking. Stay away from it. You need a medical professional to assess you and develop a plan of action.
