Thaksin Shinawatra has won a legal case against the Revenue Department revoking an order for him to pay about 17 billion baht in tax on the sale of shares in Shin Corporation in 2006.

 

Last month the court ruled the department's summonses sent to  Thaksin’s children, Pan-tong-tae and Pin-tong-ta, was unlawful, 


It should have summoned Thaksin, but it failed to do so before a deadline, it also ruled that as share ownership of the company had not been transferred Thaksin remained the share owner and was not liable to pay tax.

 

With the Covid situation starting to stabilize From October Thailand will downgrade Covid-19 from a “dangerous” communicable disease to one that “needs monitoring” similar to dengue fever and influenza.


Thailand expects to see a decline in the number of Covid infections from the middle of August. 

 

A court in Pattaya approved 300,000 baht bail from  the owner of Mountain B pub Sattahip which claimed 15 lives and injured 38 in a fire last Friday.  


The 27 year-old must wear an electronic tag and not attempt to tamper with any evidence.

 

FIRE broke out at the German embassy just off  Sathorn road in Bangkok last night, there were no reports of injury.

 

Thailand will import over 10,500 tonnes of sea shrimps from Ecuador and India this year to ease a shortage at processing plants, president of the Thai Frozen Foods Association, said imports were necessary to save the frozen food industry, as domestic production almost halved from 500,000 to 270,000 tonnes per year.

 

A seven-year-old girl died yesterday after a nine-year-old boy accidentally fired a gun while the two were playing upstairs at a house in Phuket over the weekend,


A house blessing ceremony was underway downstairs when the accident happened.
