I would speculate that half or more of those BZ4x were for Corporate Fleets, pushing batches of internal vehicles, dealer test-drive units, and executive company cars into the registration system, creating artificial macro jumps that don't reflect consumer purchases. and maybe the other half for the high Brand Loyalists and "Anti-Risk" Buyers. It's understandable, There is some distrust from the Chinese brands... Look at BYD, they sell a 1.2MB car, to later cut it to nearly half price in 2 year. F THAT! Never again BYD for me, I know, I keep repeating that :D Honestly, I would buy the BZ4x If I really wanted absolute peace of mind, many may hate and mock Toyota, but their cars are very well engineered and will give you no issues. My Fortuner Legender 2.8 has nearly 80K KM, in 6 years, even out of warranty, the Side mirror cameras had a color glitch, they replaced for free, way past the short warranty for the accessories in the car. I used to offroading and I hit a rock that bend some parts under the car, they replacement under the Toyota insurance was the smoothest experience, very fast and and they managed the whoole process. we have the father in law Hilux Vigo 3.0 with 350K km running perfectly smooth and full of power.
