Fire destroys 14 cars in Phnom Penh showroom

Featured Replies

A dramatic fire at a car dealer in Phnom Penh destroyed at least 14 vehicles early this morning. The fire erupted at 1:50 am on August 27, 2022 on Street 273, Sangkat Boeung Kak I, Khan Toul Kork, Phnom Penh. Colonel Prohm Yorn, director of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Office, said that, upon receiving information from residents, he ordered the fire trucks of the Phnom Penh Municipal Police at all targets to intervene.

Colonel Prohm Yorn also said that in this operation, special forces faced problems because the the electricity has not been turned off, so it was difficult for fire trucks to put out the flames. The fire spread rapidly to neighbouring car dealerships. Colonel Prohm Yorn also confirmed that during this operation, the police used more than 20 fire trucks. The fire was completely extinguished at 2:35 pm on the same day.
