Work Permit/visa Renewal

My fith WP and Visa expires on the 26th July, all documentation is completed and ready to submit for action to be taken. However when is the best time to submit ? I have been told if I do it too early then I am likely to get a renewal only up to the date of expiry, then have to go through the whole procedure again on the 26th July.

So when is the best time to submit, now, a week before the expiry date or when ????

Believe you mean you have a one year extension of stay from Immigration that expires on 26 July? Apply for new extension of stay first week of July. They like to see you with between 3 and 4 weeks remaining.

You were told wrong - there is no way you would get an extension on top of an extension. If you have valid reasons, such as a trip, you can often do with more than a month remaining. And the time of one year extension would be the same; in this case July 26, 2008.

Mine were set to expire 30 June and I went ahead and took care of everything last Friday. They (Immigration & Labour) extended/renewed everything for another year until 30 July 2008.
