Assembly of Community Organizations kicks off campaign for Local Community Organization Act

The Assembly of Community Organizations starts campaigning for the Local Community Organization Act.

Secretary-General of the Assembly of Community Organizations, Son Roopsung (สน รูปสูง), says the assembly's survey shows that 60% of Thai people agree with the Act, 20% disagree, and the rest 20% has no knowledge of it. The assembly has therefore cooperated with its academic allies and private organizations for social development in arranging forums on the Act and bringing the Act’s principles into practicality in 202 pilot areas across the country.

The assembly is pushing for the Act despite opposition by Deputy Minister of Social Development and Human Security, Poldet Pinprateep (พลเดช ปิ่นประทีป).
