Several areas and houses in Rayong were swamped due to constant heavy rain and flash floods on Wednesday, September 7th, causing local residents to immediately evacuate this morning.

Officials from Emergency Unit 9 from Chanthaburi and Rayong were deployed to evacuate families that were stranded on their houses’ roofs after trying to escape the flooding while a number of water pumps were stationed to increase drainage efficiency in the municipality.

Meanwhile, Rayong Provincial Administration officers arrived at major roads in the province that had been flooded to examine the damage this morning. It was found that road surfaces were cracked and peeled off in a wide area on Sukhumvit Road, causing transport difficulties at the Kachet Junction.
