CHONBURI POLICE are chasing a thief dressed as a food delivery rider who stole 3.4 million baht payroll after picking a fight with one of two employees of a company who had just withdrawn the cash to pay wages, Naewna newspaper.

Pol. Col. Tawee Kudthang, head of Ban Bueng police station, rushed to the scene of the robbery at a rear of a bank in this district upon being alerted of the crime.

He was told by Ms. Prapaporn (surname withheld), 29, who was in a state of shock that she came to the bank in her company’s van to withdraw the large amount of cash to pay the workers’ wages which is something she did on the 5th and the 20th of every month.

I wonder if this company learned their lesson and will get with the times and pay their employees by paycheck or direct deposit to their account.

The full story is very funny.

Complete imbecile ! I'd check which employee was not working at the time or which employee decides to leave or which employee and his brother get new pools. Defo an inside job

Hard to believe, there's no pointing!

Yes, the ineptitude and casual way they transport this large sum of money is beyond belief.

Let's just say that the clumsy and foolhardy way they ignore the real possibilities of being robbed serves to show that people are gullible and never learn from others mistakes, only from their own cock-ups...

What point are you trying to make?.... Yes 3.4 million baht is a large sum of money in Thailand! What has USD got to do with a robbery of baht in Thailand? Not all of us think in USD!

relative to ...

... 32 yrs worth of minimum wage income here.

$100k is a large sum, even to most Americans apparently.  Sad but true ...

Check the local CCTV ; see if the last couple 5th/20th has the same individual hanging around about that time of day.

Maybe the company should re-think it's payment strategy..

Definitely need to re-think using that same van for bank pick up.  May be a Q of masked/helmet'd MB riders waiting outside the bank next month.

Guess I need to get there early ????

The Grab disguise was appropriate.
