The government yesterday approved a budget of 3.85 billion baht for the construction of a new hospital and rail station called Siriraj station which will connect the red and Orange lines and be the first station with direct access to the hospital. The new hospital building will reduce the risk of overcrowding at the existing Siriaj hospital.

Gen Prayut along with  Deputy Prime Minister Prawit, the national police chief, and them finance ministry were found not guilty by the civil court yesterday on charges of abuse of power, the case was brought by student protesters who had objected against the imposition of a state of emergency in Bangkok. 

 

Police in Hua Hin report a body of a man was found in the sea about 50 meters from the shore, close to Hua Hin soi 75/2, He was identified as a 37 year old Thai water sports instructor, his body was taken for an autopsy.
  
A woman was found dead and two others - a boy and his mother  are  still missing after the three went out on a boat across a reservoir in Nakon Ratchasima on Monday. Rescuers discovered the dead woman’s body floating yesterday. 

 

Police on Koh Samui are investigating a gang linked with the Russian mafia who extorted $50,000 from a young Russian couple last week, the men had demanded 3 million, the two transferred the funds from their crypto currency account, police believe two of the gang may have already left Thailand.

 

A team of young engineers at Chulabhorn Royal Academy, Chulalongkorn University, and several others have been accepted as the only Asian team in a “Deep Space Challenge organized by Nasa.

Vietnam: Typhoon Noru swept across Da Nang last night forcing the evacuation of at least 800 thousand people, and the cancellation of hundreds of flights as airports closed..

Typhoon Noru left at least 8 people dead in the Philippines, and is now heading for eastern Thailand.  

 

Noru is due to sweep across eastern Thailand this evening, and by this time tomorrow will be over Nakhon Ratchasima and shall continue to drench central Thailand.
