webfact
Three houses in a crowded community in Bangkok’s Thung Khru district burned down early this morning. Firemen said that the narrow lane made it difficult for them to reach the scene of the fire in Pracha-uthit Soi 56 quickly. They said, however, that it took only about 30 minutes to extinguish the blaze. One local resident said that the owner of the house where fire is thought to have started was not at home at the time, because he had travelled to another province. Popular Post Aussieroaming
I feel very sorry for these firemen who have very little in the way of PPE, training or equipment. Would be great if some ex firemen foreigners here could contact their mates in various countries to see whether any old but good fire equipment could be sent here as charity goods. Also some training opportunities similar to what the Aussie lifesavers do would be great. I am sure there must be some connected ex firemen here that could make a huge difference. After seeing those volunteer firemen seriously burnt last year on live television during the chemical fire in Eastern Bangkok, It was very apparent that their training and PPE was inadequate and they were overwhelmed. 2
PETERTHEEATER
What happened to the purchase of special fire trucks built to navigate the narrow Sois of the capital?
DGS1244
In reality the Professional Fire Brigades have quite good equipment, unfortunately they do not attend residential fires that is left up to the volunteer brigade and they are far from being well equipped. a crazy system. The professional full time fire brigade normally only attends commercial and industrial incidents.
